Direct Readers Before Affair Hotmail Give Close Support to Martina Dalić, Say Again
Portal Directly started two weeks ago with an analysis of the results of the work of individual ministers, half the mandate of this government, and in the light of the frequent mention of the need for reconstruction. The first "on the wallpaper" was Minister Nada Murganić, whose 90 readers showed thumb down.
Just last week, before the Hotmail affair appeared, the "need" was to analyze the results of the Minister of Economy and Vice Prime Minister Martine Dalić and invite the readers to say whether they give thumbs up and thumbs down . In an article released on Monday, the tight majority of readers (51 percent less) voted positive and showed the passage of Martina Dalić.
However, the situation after the publication of the correspondence with "boys and Borg Ramljak" can not be neglected.
Critics: The process is irreversibly contaminated
Not to enter into all the details revealed by the latest announcement by Martina Dalić's mail correspondence and legal and financial advisor in Agrokor, remains the bitter taste of clientelism. And while Martina Dalić and Prime Minister Andrej Plenković argue that the whole story is motivated solely by destroying the creditors' agreement on Agrokor, it is clear to everyone that the rescue of Agrokor will determine the destiny of not only Martina Dalić, but also the impression of the success of Plenkovic's Government. Obviously everything else they do, however important, remains in the shadow of the collapse and rescue of Agrokor. And so it is not good for the investment climate and the economic future of the state, which rescues Agrokor's case to the edge of legality.
Following the departure of the first acting commissioner Ante Ramljak for suspicion of a conflict of interest, most critics of state intervention in Agrokor now say that the whole process is irreversibly contaminated and that it would be best to even fail to reach a creditor settlement. The author of these lines personally does not support such an end.
But remember, Martina Dalić at the end of last year received an award by business and journalist (organized by Večernji list) for the event of the year - the adoption of lex Agrokor, and some journalists in the praises of the minister went so far as to suggest her to rescue her Agrokor was awarded a special state prize.
The departure of Martina Dalić would be a great blow for the premier
Analysts who contacted the portal directly support Martina Dalić , of course prior to Hotmail's affair, and believe that the most significant resources of the Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Craft have been engaged in the problems of Agrokor. All other issues, such as Petrochemicals, shipbuilding, the inefficiencies of public companies, but also the removal of barriers to entrepreneurship and investment climate remain in the second plan.
The separation of the business sector from redundancy, which is precisely why Minister Dalić is engaged, in assessing the overall performance of its engagement is less important than the case of Agrokor or announcement about the closure of INA's Sisak refinery. Public opinion will have more impact on the (non) morality of its correspondence. In politics, the impression is more important than facts, and here it is yet to be determined. After all, I would remind that Martina Dalić had already been fined for the Conflict Resolution Commission in her property card when she reported the bonus she received from her husband in INA in 2016.
Martina Dalić's departure would undoubtedly be a great blow to Plenković's prime minister, but more interlocutors from the economic and political circles I contacted before Hotmail's affair would consider it to be a reallocation of certain ministries, and as a logical replacement, most often mention Tomislav Ćorić, the current Minister of Environmental Protection and energetics.
A possible move to the CNB
It is also possible that Martina Dalić has completed his stake in Banjaluka, but he does not leave politics at the same time. In this context, it should be mentioned that soon the new-old leadership of the Croatian National Bank is expected. It is not excluded that Martina Dalić could resurrect the head of the CNB with Boris Vujčić as well. It would be an elegant attempt to avoid determining its responsibility, but the question is whether the ruling coalition could have gathered a sufficient number of hands for such a decision in the Croatian Parliament. It is more likely that going to Martina Dalić from the ministry meant her departure from politics ...
We therefore call on you again to state whether, after all, Martina Dalić should remain the Minister of Economy or leave the Government of Andreja Plenković.
